From The President

Welcome to our NEW NMCA Website!

This year has brought much change and enthusiasm to our organization and it is our hope that you will join us at our Annual Conference on April 28 & 29, 2017 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Albuquerque. We plan to celebrate the many counseling efforts of our members and NMCA Divisions, along with the commitment and partnerships we have developed and are continuing to develop.

Our mutual mental health and spiritual wellbeing will largely be determined by our upcoming Presidential Election. Global, national, state and individual anxiety is on the rise. And it is our professional and ethical duty as counselors to ensure we are prepared to assist our clients navigate through their lives with as many stabilizing and healing tools as possible.

Our NMCA conference theme this year is “The New Basics & Beyond.” We will be addressing the newest counseling themes which will include; technological innovations, advances in neuroscience, addiction medicine, current ethical concerns and themes, both on a state and national level and much more.
